Hula Hoop Hangings From Cathy McQuillan, a 1,2,3 multi-age teacher at Olive-Mary Stitt School in Arlington Heights, Illinois: "A great way to display students' work is to attach them to hula hoops hanging from the ceiling. It's colorful and catches attention! To assemble, first place the hoop on the floor and tie four long pieces of string to the hoop spaced equally. Gather the string ends up and tie them together at the top. Attach the end to a ceiling hook. I buy plastic hooks that attach to the thin metal strips between the ceiling tiles and hang the hoops above worktables. Then, cut shorter pieces of string and tie them around the hoop. I can usually fit fifteen or so pieces. Tie a paper clip to each string and you're ready! Just attach the students' work to the paper clips. It's even possible to attach two single sided papers to each clip." |
